And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Rev. 12:11

In our trials and temptations, as we remember the blood of Jesus and confess His name, we are strengthened in the battle against Satan. The blood of Jesus makes it possible for us to come into God’s presence. Hebrews 10:19 says, “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus…” Here we receive grace to overcome in the time of testing (Heb. 4:16).

“they loved not their lives unto the death” – may this be my testimony, Lord, so I may overcome as you did. Let us be thankful for the opportunities to lay down our lives, and be faithful. The early Christians suffered much persecution and many died as martyrs. Let us remember them in our trials.

We may expect great trials for Christians living in these times, such as those that are happening now in Iraq. Let us be watchful, and keep praying for and with one another.

Lord, in the time of testing let me remember your blood; the blood that washed me and sanctifies me (Heb. 13:12) – may I remember your love, and overcome by grace. My victory is sure, Lord, because of your blood. Remembering that you did not love your life, but laid it down for me, let me now follow in your footsteps – may this be my testimony, Lord. Amen.
